All eyes will be on Abe Lenstra Stadion when Heerenveen and AZ Alkmaar take on each other in a highly-anticipated Eredivisie game. Heerenveeen aim to recover from a heavy 3-0 loss to Excelsior, but you should know that they are on a five-game winless run in all competitions. Both Che Nunnely and Pelle van Amersfoort are pushing for a start after duo Walemark – Tahiri failed to impress in the last league match, while Denzel Hall has joined Daniel Karlsbakk in the recovery room.
Maarten Martens’ men, on the other hand, shared the spoils with Zwolle in their last league match and, no doubt, they are eager to return to winning ways as soon as possible. Given Heerenveen’s poor form in January, we do not believe that AZ will have a better chance than this to get back on course. Both Yukinari Sugawara and Matthew Ryan are on international duty, while Alkmaar midfielder Sem Westerveld is a major doubt.

Jordy Clasie is a product of the Feyenoord youth academy who plays for AZ Alkmaar as a midfielder. His main position is defensive midfield, but he is capable of producing fine displays as both central midfielder and centre-back as well.
Clasie played for the likes of Feyenoord, Excelsior (loan), Southampton, and Club Brugge (loan) before returning to Rotterdam. After ending his second spell with Feyenoord, the Dutch footballer joined AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2019. He made his AZ debut in the Eredivisie on August 4, 2019 in a 4-0 win over Fortuna Sittard.
Jordie Clasie has 12 caps with the Netherlands U21 team, and he made his senior debut in a 1-1 draw with Italy on February 6, 2013. Thanks to his elegant style of play, Clasie has earned the nickname of “Dutch Xavi”. The AZ Alkmaar midfielder was born in Haarlem, Netherlands on June 27, 1991.

Heerenveen have yet to win the Eredivisie title, but they impressed in the 1999/00 season, with the team finishing the process in second position in the standings. Thanks to a top-two finish, the club booked their place in the Champions League.
