Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Zaragoza and Logrones face each other at Estadio La Romareda in the opening match of day 21. Zaragoza suffered elimination to Alcorcon in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday evening, meaning that they will be fully focused on Segunda Division in remainder of the season. Los Blanquillos are determined to secure the La Liga 2 survival, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail against Logrones.
Boss Ivan Martinez rested several first-team regulars in the defeat to Alcorcon, but he is likely to field the best possible side against Logrones. It has to be noted that Zaragoza defeated Fuenlabrada and Lugo in the previous two home games in Segunda Division. Sergio Rodriguez’s troops, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-1 win over Mirandes. Logrones regained a much-needed confidence at the weekend, but given the importance of the match for the relegation strugglers, home win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (James Igbekeme):
James Igbekeme is a Nigerian footballer who plays for Zaragoza in La Liga 2 as a winger. Igbekeme’s primary position is central midfield, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a left midfielder as well.
The Nigeria international started his senior career at Portuguese club Ribeirao, and after scoring two goals in 43 appearances for Os Ribeirenses, he moved to fellow Portuguese outfit Gil Vicente. In 2018 he decided to move to Spain, signing a four-year deal with Zaragoza. The 170-cm tall footballer made his Zaragoza debut on August 19, 2018 in a 2-1 win over Rayo Majadahonda.
He scored his first goal for the club in a 4-0 win at Real Oviedo on September 8, 2018. Igbekeme’s preferred foot is left, and his contract with los Blanquillos should expire on June 30, 2023. The Zaragoza midfielder born in Lagos on July 4, 1995 has yet to receive a call-up for the Nigeria national football team.
Highlighted Team (Logrones):
UD Logrones is a Spanish football team that participates in Spanish Segunda Division. Union Deportiva Logrones were founded in 2009 following the extinction of CD Logrones, with the team competing in Segunda B until the 2019/20 season.
In 2020 UD Logrones secured promotion to Segunda division as they were sitting in top position in the standings when the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The club is well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away kit. Union Deportiva Logrones play their home games at Las Gaunas, the venue with the capacity of 16,000 spectators.
UD Logrones take on Sporting Gijon on their debut in the Spanish second tier. It has to be noted that the club chiefs made a three-year collaboration with La Liga side Eibar, which saw their footballers going on loan to Logrones to gain some experience.
